Trivago, a travel portal, has announced the launch of a new feature for hotel searches, which will show more price transparency to the users. This new initiative related to hotel searches will allow customers to compare precise rate descriptions on bookings for hotels using the Trivago website. This will allow the users to immediately see the terms to which they are confirming on their holiday booking. Travelers can also check the exact rate description of a hotel room, as well as the pricing of different partners, in their search results from not only the site of the partner, but directly from Trivago. The rate description includes if breakfast is part of the price, if a booking can be canceled with short notice, and if the traveler is required to make the booking with a credit card. The information that users will be provided with is unique in the meta search area of hotels, says Trivago.
The hotel finder on Trivago compares prices from booking partners online, such as Booking.com, ebookers, and Expedia, which includes 285,000 hotels around the world. The array of criteria that the user has to choose from for a search, like hotel category and room facilities, allows them to reduce the amount of results they get. Additionally, those who are visitors to Trivago can locate a hotel that is within a 20 kilometer radius from their destination by using the site’s radius search feature. Trivago says that they attracted over 2.5 million visitors every month in Europe during 2007′s 4th quarter.
