InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is planning to built the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark in Vietnam as the countries tallest hotel. The development of this new luxury hotel has a signed agreement between IHG and Keangnam Enterprises, a Korea-based company, for construction in the West Hanoi’s centre. This InterContinental Hanoi Landmark is targeted to be opening in the early part of 2011.
It will contain 383 suites and rooms, plus 300 serviced residences, which will occupy the top floors of the 336 metre, 70 story Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower. This new development is anticipated to be one of the top 20 buildings worldwide to be the tallest.
The new InterContinental Hanoi Landmark is going to be located strategically in the capital city’s centre of retail, entertainment, business, and commercial, and it will only be a short walk from there to get to the National Convention Centre, which is also new. The landmark will be a part of the $1 billion (US), 46,000 sq. metre complex in the city centre that will have premium retail outlets, offices, and apartments.
The courtyard of the hotel will be on floor 60 with bars, restaurants, and a lobby and will offer a panoramic view of the city. The suites and guest rooms on floors 59 to 69 will have private lifts. There will also be a private lift to the Club InterContinental lounge, which will be on the top floor and the highest club in the world. The hotel will also feature a fitness club, meeting centre to be state-of-the-art, and a large outdoor pool that will be made in resort-style.
