Embattled airline British Airways and tourism agency VisitBritain have joined forces in a new campaign to promote the wonders of the UK. The ad campaign, which features the tagline “Britain: A different picture around every corner”, is aimed at people looking for a traditional break in the UK.

According to research carried out by VisitBritain, the UK contains more world-class history and heritage sites than any other country in the world. The series of posters will show some of these attractions through the ‘mode dial’ of a camera in the hope of alluring visitors of Britain’s authentic charm.

The whole scheme is costing a huge £1.6 million to put together and it is also hoped that British Airways will get a much needed boost from the promotion. The airline, which has been hit by several costly cabin crew strikes this year, will be offering cheap economy class tickets to the UK from a variety of countries.

Laurence Bresh of VisitBritain said the UK has more classic icons per square mile than anywhere else in the world. He went on to say that he hoped the ads would encourage visitors to really explore the length and breadth of the country.

According to the director of marketing at VisitBritain, Laurence Bresh, the UK has more attractions every square mile than everywhere else on the planet. He added that he hoped the ‘Classic’ campaign would help inspire tourists to visit the whole of the country.
