Orbitz Worldwide is one of the leading online travel companies in the world, and they have announced that William Cobb has been appointed to their board of directors. He is also appointed to be a member of the compensation and audit committees for the board. The most recent position that Mr. Cobb has served was eBay North America’s president. He has held numerous senior management roles at eBay Inc., one of them being the general manager and senior vice president of eBay International and another being the global marketing senior vice president. Mr. Cobb has previously held several key roles at PepsiCo in their Tricon Global Restaurants, Pepsi-Cola divisions, and Frito Lay.
Jeff Clarke, the chairman of Orbitz Worldwide, said that Bill Cobb’s appointment to the board illustrates the company’s commitment in finding the most experienced and qualified leadership that will keep providing management guidance within the company. He also added that the extensive experience that Mr. Cobb has on the internet will boost the already talented board’s capabilities.
Steve Barnhart, the CEO and president of Orbitz Worldwide, stated that the company will get a great benefit from the experience that Bill Cobb has, which is characterized by the success he has had in business, management, and marketing development with some of the more well known consumer brands in the economy of the world.
