New UK Cruise Liner Launched


A new UK based cruise company, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, announced this week it will launch in January 2010. In a week where Voyages of Antiquty head Gerry Herrod announced their pending launch, UK holiday makers have suddenly found themselves with an abundance of cruise options.

Cruise Critics News states that the Cruise & Maritime Voyages refit will be tailored towards a more mature market, with a return to more traditional entertainment, dining and rooms. Both companies emphasize itinerary choice aimed at the more discerning cruise-taker.

The Mirrors In Cruise News the Cruise &Maritime Voyages purchase of the Marco Polo, currently owned by the German Transocean Tours, will be an adults only affair (16 and above) and will be aimed at cash short consumers, with multiple departure points in the UK along with exotic itineraries.

Historian John Julius Norwich helped design Voyages of Antiquitys new Mediterranean itinerary and will guest lecture on-board, while the current vessel; Aegean I, will feature larger rooms and more balcony suites. Their fare will include excursions in every port, with prices per day starting from 164 for an inside cabin, and 266 in a suite.

Cruise & Maritime Voyages prices start at 199 for a three-night package to Amsterdam and Antwerp next spring bank holiday.
