What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. It would be better if

It would be better if the "level" of car matched the categories used by Alamo (or whichever rental car company is selected). I have noticed a pattern that I select a "luxury" vehicle on hirecars.co.uk and when I arrive to pick up the car the category does not match what I'm expecting. Usually I try to reserve the highest-end car I can on the website, but when I arrive the rental car company informs me that the category I reserved is not the highest end they have (it's usually a full 1-2 levels below real "luxury").
