Currently not offering scheduled passenger services, Thisted Airport served two daily return flights to Copenhagen until early 2007. The airport is located 15kms from the Danish town of the same name and eight kilometres from Hanstholm. Car hire in Thisted Airport is available on request.

The services are provided on a Monday to Friday basis.
A 3,500-year-old Bronze Age burial mound, the largest in Denmark, is located close by at Langdos, and the small town of Thisted is famous for the organic beer produced at its Thisted Bryghus brewery. The pretty centre of town, with its scattering of historic buildings, is pedestrianised. The nearby harbour town of Hanstholme has a long and impressive heritage dating back 1,000 years.
As with the rest of Denmark, the climate in Thisted is changeable but less cold than the rest of Scandinavia. Long summer days and even longer winter nights make from late spring through to early autumn the best time to visit, with car rental in Thisted Airport the best way to get around. Summer temperatures during the day stay around 20?C although occasionally, in the middle of winter, the mercury can fall as low as -10?C at night.
Touring the Danish region of Rutland by car is reasonably straightforward, with good roads, fast motorways between major towns and little traffic in most areas. Coastal roads give great seascape views and the interior is forested. Driving habits here are civilised although in large cities, rush hour may be a challenge.
