What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

I was hesitant to book

I was hesitant to book a car from Unirent as I have no previous experience with them, and I prefer to use well known car hire companies because of issues I have had using less well known companies in the past. It worked out fine however because all my dealings at the airport where with Eurocar and I don’t really understand the reasoning behind the Unirent brand especially as I was in two minds not to book a car from them and choose and alternative brand instead.

Nanterre is located in the western suburbs of Paris in France. It is roughly 11kms away from the centre of Paris. Being out of the centre of the city, Nanterre, is a good place to stay if you want a relatively relaxed atmosphere still with the sites of Paris on your doorstep. There is the A14 main road which can take you right into the centre of Paris and means all the sites and sounds of the centre are just a short drive away with car rental in Nanterre.
