Quick, good value

Easy web site to use. Good value and very competative. Alamo supplied good service at Nice airport, good English. Only downside was the need to transfer from T1 to T2 to get car hire although it worked smoothly once we knew where to go.

Cheap but could be better

Best price for the size of car but you don't find out who you're actually booking with until you get the c0nfirmation! I selected a 'Mini Sport or similar' from no specific supplier which actually came through in the c)nfirmation as a 'Citroen DS3 or similar' from Avis (I had specifically NOT chosen the DS3 even though it was listed as cheaper!). I was ready to complain / barter for a better car like I had paid for but when we collected the car we'd already been 'upgraded' (ie they didn't have any small cars left) to Nissan Note - and what a pile of shi..t that was. I know car rentals are always 'car x or similar' but the categories seem so vague these days that there's no point in even trying to book the car you want. Plus it would've been really nice to know at least which company the car was coming from before I confirmed and paid for it! Being forced to buy insurance excess insurance is also a total c0n (How on earth is being liable for paying an excess of €3000 c0nsidered as insurance?! and how is it legal?!!) but that's another argument entirely. I notice how the word 'c0n' is c0nsidered as profanity on this website, hence all the 0s - haha, hilarious!

Upgraded with a smile!

Upgraded to 4x4 having only booked mini size car, excellent as snowed ++ and we were able to sail past everyone stopping up the mountain to put snow chains on! Only gripe is the way they try and add extra insurances on at the desk - just charge total price for everything at booking including snow chains where needed which would make life more simple - all companies do this so its a universal gripe!

great car, no problems, everything went smoothly

This is the second time I've used 121carhire and I would recommend them and definiately use them again. I would advise on getting your own separate waiver insurance as the car hire companies have large excess fees.

Geneva Airport and 121 Car Hire

The paperwork was available on line via email, the instructions were clear and reminders sent through prior to departure. On arrival at the airport the car was ready and the staff at the desk were most helpful. The car was clean, new and full of fuel. Direction to and from the pick up point were given to us - what more could I say. It was so simple and very good value for money. I have used 121 Car Hire in the past and will again - excellent service from a top notch company.

Car hire Paris

Booked through 121 after having gone through many reviews about online car hire companies / websites, and even after doing in depth researck which revealed some potential worries, I still booked the car through 121. I had no issues, only apart form the language barrier in France. The lady on the desk though had to re-input all my details even though I though it would be transferred through the various systems. Apart from that, all went well and no problems & car was spot on.

Corsica June 2012

Recieved an upgrade, so much appreciated, though the car only had a rear passenger door on the non drivers side (Hyude Volostro) which was fine but difficult if we had an extra passenger. First baby car seat we recieved was in poor condition, but the replacement was good. Car pick up and return was easy as there where short, no lines to wait in at the airport (though due to the requirement to change the car seat meant it took an hour to get out of the airport!). Car drive very nicely. Low profile tyres perhaps not the best choice for Corsicas rough roads, so the ride a little bumpy.

High quality, easy and great value

Booking with 121 was easy, transparent and quick. Collection of the car was very simple and quick from one of the top car rental companies Sixth. Sixth were excellent and we were given their normal high quality customer care which included being quickly and easily able to change the first car we were allocated (as it smelt of smoke). The car was pretty new, everything worked really well and it included the yellow jacket and triangle required for cars under French Law. Drop off was again really simple and quick. The only improvement (which I guess goes for all rental companies) would be that almost everyone renting a car could benefit from a Road Map (which was not available at the rental company or given as standard in the car). Also, for the future, when booking through 121, it would be great to know WHICH rental company we would be using before entering our credit card details.

Easy website to navigate...no hidden charges when I got to my destination. The Car I requested was available, brand new and economical. The Person at the Front desk at Nantes was very kind and threw in a booster Seat without Charge. I will use 121 Again.

continental Break

I FOUND YOUR SITE USING GOOGLE AND COMPARED PRICES,AND THE TYPE OF CAR. YOU WERE NOT THE CHEAPEST BUT YOUR CARS WERE TO A BETTER SPEC.On arrival in Geneva i went to collect the car at Sixt and they were very efficient and prompt.I transferred to the colleting park via a shuttle bus ,which departed as soon as i got on it,Found the car easily and withina few minutes was on my way.The car was very low mileage and in new condition clean and the tank was full.On return the petrol station was next to the drop of park and yes the buss was waiting and again left as soon as i was boarded.The paperwork was done on pick up and the money was taken from my account 3 days after the higher period had finnished,What more could i ask for,Beats me Well done to you all,Best regards Tony Caudle

Car rental at Rodez through 121 and Alamo.

All was fine except when checking Alamo site it indicated that the car hire at Rodez was closed at collection time; in effect they open up for the arrival of the flight; but it would be nice to have this clearly stated instead of allowing a seed of doubt take place. I rang 121 services to check and it took about 10 minutes of waiting for the agent to come back & confirm all was OK. Why could not this arrangement be confirmed on the website as additional information? Otherwise all was handled efficiently, car was as described and satisfactory.

121 car hire great - Nice airport poor

All the elements of hte car hire worked smoothly, but the new lay out of car hire services at Nice airport is badly signed and an inconvenient distance from terminal 2 if you have bags and no Euro coins for a trolley. Alamo staff were friendly and helpful, but forgot to give us a card to exit the car park - we were stuck between 2 barriers blocking one of hte exits until released by a halpful car park attendant.

The ADA car rental company is bad in service. The staffs have no english what so ever. they didnt tell me where to leave the key so I missed my flight because of that and I had to sleep in the car for one night which is so unpleasant.

Tourists can get to Gap in southern France by train and then pick up cheap car hire at Gap Rail Station. It is just east of the town centre on Avenue Commandant Dumont where there are hotels and restaurants as well as a Europcar car rental office.

With car hire in Gap Rail Station you can easily explore this mountain town in the Southern Alps and also head out into the Les Ecrins National Park, which is the main sight to see in this region of France. The town itself has many old buildings, being set up by the Gauls and expanded upon by the Roman.

There are churches and chateaus in the town as well as some fine museums, including the well done Le Musee Departemental, which displays old artefacts of the town. The Luye River goes through the town and you can drive alongside it with car rental in Gap Rail Station.

Activities in Gap and around Gap include walking and cycling, with the 40kms-long Les Balcons du Gapencais circuit going around the town and being lots of fun. The best of the activities, however, can be had in Les Ecrins National Park. It has sublime excellent hiking and cross-country skiing options, along with mountaineering and paragliding.

You can get to the park by heading north of town along the D944 northeast to Champoleon with car rental in Gap Rail Station, from where the road heads into the park proper. Driving around by way of old towns and villages is also fun.
