Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Gourdon is a so-called perched village in the wilds of southern France a couple of hundred kilometres across from Bordeaux and up from Toulouse. It is accessible from Paris and Toulouse by train, after which you can pick up cheap car hire at Gourdon Rail Station.

The rail station is just east of the historic town centre, which itself sits at altitude on a rocky spur with fantastic views over the country and above the Loup River. It is a touristy town with bags of allure and some nice driving with car rental in Gourdon Rail Station.

One of the top sights is the hilltop 13th century château, which was converted from a fortress that originated in the 9th century. With car hire in Gourdon Rail Station you can also visit the Castle of Gourdon with its perfect shrub garden.

The village itself has some nice wandering among old streets that are dotted with boutiques where you can pick up some decent souvenirs. In addition, below the town is the stunning Gorges du Loup which has great walking, swimming and sightseeing. The high waterfalls and tall railway bridge are particularly scenic.

With car rental in Gourdon Rail Station you can head north of Gourdon and visit the Plateau de Caussols, which is home to fine views and the Observatoire du CERGA. Farther afield is the beautiful Cevennes National Park to the east, Limoges to the north and Toulouse to the south. Gourdon is about equidistant from the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.
