What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

I was hesitant to book

I was hesitant to book a car from Unirent as I have no previous experience with them, and I prefer to use well known car hire companies because of issues I have had using less well known companies in the past. It worked out fine however because all my dealings at the airport where with Eurocar and I don’t really understand the reasoning behind the Unirent brand especially as I was in two minds not to book a car from them and choose and alternative brand instead.

Le Puy Loudes Airport (LPY) is a regional airport that serves the Auvergne region of southern France, an area full of glorious countryside and many great attractions. The airport is located close to the village of Loudes and about 6 miles from the historic town of Le Puy-en-Velay that can easily be reached with cheap car hire at Le Puy Airport.

The airport only operates flights from one airline, Hexair, at the moment and the only route they fly is to and from Paris. However, if you are already in Paris or want to reach the capital, a flying to between the two is a great alternative to taking the train.
