Skiathos Airport is the air portal for Greece's Skiathos and Lazareta islands. It mostly serves summer charter flights, but has scheduled services to Manchester and Athens. The airport is located two kilometres north of Skiathos Town and its busy port. Car hire in Skiathos Airport is the easiest transport option for reaching the resorts along the coast.


Skiathos Airport facilities

The airport's terminal is modern and spacious, with lots of seating areas, but as it is not a major airport, it only offers basic facilities. Several companies provide car rental in Skiathos Airport to arriving passengers. There is a car park opposite the terminal. Driving south towards Skiathos Town leads drivers to the island's main southern road.


Skiathos Airport excursions

The principal attraction of a Skiathos holiday is beaches, and there are around 60 of them dotted around the island's 40km shoreline. Ftelia, Koutsouri and Vromolimnos are all on the southern road and reachable with car hire in Skiathos Airport. May, June and September are better months, with lots of sun, little rain and warm seas. Winters are cooler, with temperatures averaging at 9°C.
