Best time to visit

Bitterly cold winters and warm summers mean the months between May and September are probably the best months for tourists to visit. June to August tends to see temperatures around 20°C, while May and September offer slightly lower temperatures. Sub-zero temperatures are common between December and February. The city experiences a lot of rain – on average rain falls once every two days – with November to January the wettest period.

Car rental in Kaunas Airport

This modern airport has a number of car rental desks on the ground floor, where visitors can compare car hire and choose a vehicle which suits their needs. Cars must have winter tyres fitted between November and April by law. Tourists should beware of potentially hazardous conditions in the winter month; however, the road network is well developed.
